We are fortunate at the Banana Tree Practice to be able to provide either individual therapy input, or combined Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy intervention. This ensures that your child will receive an integrated therapy programme that best meets their needs in an effective, accessible and timely manner. Sessions are carried out at home or in school.
The Occupational Therapy Service is provided by Ruth Le May and the Physiotherapy service by Melanie Jones. We have both worked within the NHS in the paediatric field for over 23 years and gained extensive experience in hospital and community settings and provided input into both mainstream and Special Schools. We both have a special interest in the assessment and treatment of Developmental Coordination Disorders, Dyspraxia and Sensory Processing Disorders. Both Melanie and Ruth are qualified Sensory Integration Practitioners, Ruth at an Advanced level.
As parents ourselves, we recognise the importance of working together with everyone involved with your child to ensure that treatment goals are both realistic and relevant to your child’s daily life and focused on skills that are important to them. We believe this will help your child remain motivated and positive towards their therapy, an essential prerequisite for a successful outcome. We work hard to make sure our sessions are fun and something that your child will look forward to and enjoy.
If you think The Banana Tree Practice could help your child, please contact us, we would love to hear from you.
